Abortion

Abortion Abortion clinics exist to end pregnancy. women attending abortion clinics are pregnant and do not want to be. when attending the abortion clinic there is some counselling and the woman is given a number of leaflets to take away read through and help her decide whether to end the pregnancy or not. The woman is also scanned to check that she is indeed actually pregnant to start with and that it is a normal pregnancy, not an emergency like a ectopic pregnancy. The leaflets take the woman through things to think about when considering keeping or ending the pregnancy.  they cover social effects of the pregnancy and a baby so for example will you be socially outcast by your friends and family for being pregnant or having a baby. they cover economic effects - can you afford a child do you already have seven children and this one will mean you are all out on the streets. they cover affects on employment - so would you lose your job or would you fail to get promotion ? what T...

The bungalow

The bungalow In 2010 my mother is househunting in Peterborough so she can come live nearer to me  it’s January and she’s not yet moved up she moves about May 2010 which time she’s already dying of cancer but nobody knows it although she does quickly turn yellow  in 2010 in January she emails me that she is going to be househunting and social be in the area and we could meet for coffee she said she’s good at househunting because of the bungalow she chose to live in with my dad and raising myself and my sister  for me that choice was an absolute disaster to make such a different choice to the rest of the world the world Is what put us children in so much danger.  to choose to move to somewhere where you know no one to live in such isolation not just from people you know that from the rest of the town even though it’s on the street it was an isolated bungalow and then to leave your children to work full time and to commute into London daily so that you were away f...

Big things  I guess the most obvious big thing is the first thing that you were born and I don’t remember that  my earliest memory is the hospital I was in hospital having an operation and I was two or three years old I have the original letter that the hospital sent to my mum with the appointment so I know that I was 2 3/4 it was the 1970s would in fact be 1975 and so I was wearing my brown and orange jumper as the 70s as it is befitting of the 70s  it was a big ward with lots of other people on it and my mother un dressed me and I hateD bein...
